Helping a 175-year-old institution reconnect with its younger audience
FOR EVERY GENERATION
Founded in 1843, the Free Church of Scotland is one of Scotland’s most important religious institutions. They asked us to help their Missions Board connect with its audiences and foster a new generation of younger members in a way that is modern and memorable.
‘SHINING A LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS’
We carried out research, built a creative strategy and created a visual and language identity to reach previously under-represented audiences.
We developed the Generation name, and our ‘G’ logo is inspired by the filament of a lightbulb. The idea of shining light is further supported by a vibrant colour palette and a language approach that both informs and enlightens.
Since its launch, Generation has already established a greater social media presence than the entire denomination to which it belongs, and helped attract significant funding locally and from overseas.
